Osman was born somewhere around present day Turkey in 1258. His father was named Ertuğrul and was the leader of a Turkic tribe. They came to turkey to flee Mongols that perscuted them.

Osman's first wife was Valide Sultan. Not much is known about her except that isn't her name. Valide Sultan means queen in their language.

When Osman's father died, he took over his kingdom at the age of 23. At this time, many mercenaries were poring into his empire to defeat the Orthodox rulers at the time.

osman has his son. He will be the next ruler of the Ottomans after osman dies in 1236. He expanded the Empire even more.

Osman's armies defeated the Byzantine forces near Nicaea. The Byzantines were the people that had given his father money to start his kingdom.

By this time in Osman's life, he had become noted as a successful military leader and ruler. By the time he defeated the Byzatine forces, many people flooded to his empire. They were Ghazi warriors, Islamic Scholars, and many other people.

Osman kept pushing the military force of the Byzantine empire farther and farther away from their homeland. They had fled to the Black Sea to focus on the power of their strong navy. Osman quickly gained control of it and it was a vital source to the Ottoman empire.

Osman had two wives during his lifetime. The one he was most noted for when he got married to her was Mal Hatun. She was the daughter of a powerful Byzatine ruler. (which he later took over.) She was said to be the most beautiful girl in the empire.

Osman last year he was ruler, he planned the Seige of Bursa. The Ottomans wanted to take over some of the large Pursian Empire. They had never taken over any City before. It took 9 years to fall.

Osman died in 1326. His son took over the empire as ruler. He left a famous document that told his son what he needed to do when he died.
