What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing the product?

  • PHOTOSHOP

    PHOTOSHOP
Photoshop was the first programme I learned to use at the begining of the course. My photshopping skills have developed greatly from my first experiments to constructing my music magazine. I started with simple tools such as the marquee tool, the lassoo tool, magic wand and paint bucket. I then progressed to experimenting with the clone stamp tool, which I then realised would be especially useful when editing my photos for my music magazine to make them look more proessional.
  • ONLINE TECHNOLOGIES

    ONLINE TECHNOLOGIES
I began to explore online technologies when presenting my findings, using Wordle to present my knowledge, and VoiceThread to discuss analysis. These are effective, creative ways to blog my work, and from using these I knew to explore more programmes to present my work throughout the process, for example discovering Photosnack, which enabled me to present my work in a more creative way than I initially thought I could.
  • PHOTOSHOOTS

    PHOTOSHOOTS
I learned about elements of taking photos in a studio using studio lights and backdrops etc. I learned about high key and low key lighting and the effects they have, as well as how the positioning of lights can cast or eradicate shadows. Backgrounds can have different effects on your image, and along with props and costumes can convey a certain genre.
  • CAMERA WORK

    CAMERA WORK
Since taking my first pictures for the school magazine, my photography skills have developed greatly. My learning evolved from simply focusing the camera by half-holding the button, through to the compisition of the image, framing it, zoom and exposure, coming into full use during my studio shoots for my music magazine. This helped the images to be the best quality I could make them.
  • INDESIGN

    INDESIGN
At first, I found Indesign more difficult to get to grips with than a lot of the creative technologies I have learnt to use during the course. I felt my first attempt at using it was very unsuccessful, but I persevered and am pleased with my final product.
  • ONLINE TECHNOLOGIES

    ONLINE TECHNOLOGIES
When evaluating my product, I took my knowledge of new creative online presentation technologies to display my work. I have enjoyed using programmes like Prezi and SpiderScribe throughout, but when it came to the evaluation I tried to be even more creative by making mood boards and playlists. This has benefited my ability to display my work in more creative ways as I have continued through the course.
