This allowed the British troops to leave the western frontiers and allowed for the country able to grow economically since trade would be allowed within the two nations. Its significance to the war of 1812 is that this treaty did not succeed since trade between Great Britain and the United States ended and war broke out.

    Tecumseh was a Native American who was a Shawnee warrior chief. He wanted to negotiate with the government of the United States to not allowed them to invade his people’s native land and kick them out. The government and Tecumseh did not come to an agreement and this led to violence and tension growing between them. The significance of this is that later on in the war of 1812, they join the British to go against the Americans.

    The War Hawks were a group of Republicans in Congress that were pushing to persuade President James Madison to initiate war against Great Britain since Great Britain kept messing with American sailors and wanting to help the Native Americans. They also wanted the British to leave Canada as well. Its significance to the war of 1812 is that the Congressmen were able to persuade President James Madison in declaring war against Great Britain.
