My mother's hobby was to document our lives may it be milestones or simple moments. She would develop the pictures and compile them in albums. To this day, we still take pictures to update each other on what is going on with our lives.

Every night, my mother would read my sister and I a story. Sometimes, we would finish the whole book because we could not sleep. Due to this practice, I learned to read and speak fluently at the age of 2. Books have been my escape. It is a good brain exercise to visualize the words.

The television has been a staple in my household. I was mostly exposed to local channels. However, I remember going home from school to watch cartoons before our cable was discontinued.

I was given a Barbie radio as a gift. I could put cassette tapes in it. I remember dancing to Britney Spears songs as well as listening to story telling tapes. I occasionally listen to the radio in the car while I am on my way to school.

I live in a compound and my neighbors are my extended family. We usually contact each other by using the telephone. When I am at my cousins house and I need something from my house, I use the phone to contact my unit. During grade school, I would use the telephone a lot to contact my classmates for notes. We would also talk or "telebabad".

With my mom being a teacher in Computer Science, I have been used to having computers in the household. I would observe my mom as she does her work. Later on, I would use it for my own work and entertainment. Having a laptop is useful because it is a portable computer that allows me to do work anywhere.

My first phone was a Nokia phone. It was given to me as a test of my responsibility. I rarely used it because I did not have people to contact aside from my family. My first ever phone bill was one peso. Now, my cellphone is like an extension of me. My social circle has expanded so I have more people to contact. I use it to take pictures and make to-do lists. In my spare time, I access my social media accounts.

During my grade school days, we were required to do a report every month. We had to show the newspaper clipping of where the news came from. I usually read newspapers for the comics section. Most of the time, I use newspapers for projects.

Part of my mother's job was game development. One day, she brought home a gaming console. My cousins immediately played with it since they were game fanatics. I have always watched them play different games on different consoles. We have played together on the xbox, ps4, and wii. However, it has never been my interest.

I originally created a Facebook account to play Pet Society. As I grew up, it became an easier way to communicate with my friends. Nowadays, I do not play the games anymore. I mainly use Facebook for communication and entertainment.

My parents jobs require them to travel a lot so we use Skype to talk to each other when they are out of town or out of the country. I have also used Skype to talk to my friends when we have not seen each other for a long time.

I made a Twitter account in order to be updated on the whereabouts of One Direction. I also followed Youtubers that I was fond of. I would imagine scenarios where I would become friends with them. I was very jealous of the fans that they followed. I got over this mindset and started focusing on reality. Currently, most of the people I follow now are schoolmates or batchmates.

A lot of my friends used Snapchat. I decided to try it to see what all the fuss was about. In my experience, people have used it to try to exploit me. I have also seen people fake a scenario just so that they could post it. What I do appreciate about Snapchat is the news feature. It is very entertaining and there is impressive coverage of events
