I was a seemingly healthy fetus. My mother had an easy pregnancy. I was 6 lbs, 12 oz at birth and was issued a clean bill-of-health.
-
-
Soon after I got home from the hospital, my mom observed that I was not at all a healthy baby. My psychiosocial development was delayed. I wasn't making mile stones that other babies my age were. My temperment was horrible. I was very fussy and crying all the time. I had obvious water retention and my heart beat could be felt through my back.
-
I was only 12 lbs and after 8 months of being a severly sick infant and visiting countless cardiologists and pediatricians to confirm my mom's hunch that there was something wrong with my health, a doctor finally diagnosed me with AVSD and I under-went open-heart surgery to repair the hole in my heart.
-
Due to my heart surgery delaying my biosocial and cognitive skills, starting to crawl was a huge milestone for me.
-
After undergoing/recovering from my AVSD repeair surgery, I was noicibly much healthier. I was gaining weight and I immediately stated making progress with my biosocial, cognitive and psychosocial development.

-
I was entering middle school as a very smart child. I exceeded everyone's expectations and no one would have guessed I underwent such a major surgery.

I transitioned from a pre-teen to a women in a short time. I've gone through many struggles and challenges, which have developed me into the person I am today. My communication skills are better than they have ever been and I think like an adult, while also having better judgement. I am healthy and happy.

My mind is very matured from what it was whenn starting highscholol. My mind-set and skills are developed in every category. I'm planning my future.
-
I picture myself having my dream job as a nurse, being married to a great guy, with a happy, healthy relationship, living comfortably, without having to struggle and having a couple of children.
-
I predict I will live a long and happy life, while fulfilling all my dreams and ambitions and die of old age when I'm close to 100 years old.
