The Beginning of Nestorianism

The Nestiorianism started in 386-451 A.D. and the followers of this religion, which was still similiar as Christianity, were called Nestorians. They thought Jesus was man and god.

Huns and Nestorians

The Huns, who are nomadic to the land of Asia, are taught by the Nestorian missionaries to read and write. The Nestorians are another type of followers of Christianity. This happened in the year 535 A.D.

The first Asian nations to adopt Christianity as a state religion were Armenia in 301 and Georgia in 327. They were influnced by St. Thomas who preached in Asia to spread the religion.

First Followers in the Middle East

In 500 A.D., were reported to be the first christians in North Yemen which meant that their were followers in the Middle East. That is understandable becuase they are located close to Jerusalem, which is the orgin of Christianity.

A church was built in Ch'ang-an, which meant that Christianity would've been established in China already or they could've bben starting up. This process of building the church started 638 A.D.

Nestorians Informed China of Christianity

During the T'ang dynasty of China received foreigners at its court; among these were a large number of Nestorian Christians. The visitors showed China about my things related to Christianity. Arab traders, visiting China, recorded the Chinese emperor's knowledge of Noah, the prophets, Moses, and Jesus. It was during the Tang Dynasty, which was about 689 A.D.

In 1859, the first 7 Protestant missonaires arrived in Japan. It was when Japan agreed to not be in isolation, which brought more influence in religion to the region.

The first Protestant missionary converted Hong Xiuquan, who started the Taiping Rebellion from 1850 to 1864 that almost toppled the Qing government.
