In the beginning there was a world, a world that was slightly less awesome until a few minutes later, when I figured out how to not die and live outside the womb. To be honest it's all going to be downhill from here
-
To be honest, I was two. I don't remember my sister Naomi being born, but I'm sure that was nice too. She was born in the same hospital as me.
-
The beginning of my journey to a solid education, my mother took me to our local church preschool, and it began.
-
The was more memorable because I went to the hospital, but I remember getting a super cool Harry Potter Quidditch cake because Mom had just read the first book to me and I love it!
-
Have you ever looked at me and wonder, why isn't her hair curlier? Well here's the answer. Everyone was telling my mom to get my hair done the "African" way, so she finally agreed. I don't know what happened there, but my hair has never been as curly since.

Winding Springs Elementary, where my brother went and my sister would go after me. This was one of two non-uniform years I had there, oh the opportunities I wasted. But I remember being excited because I got to ride the bus for the first time!
-
So this time, everyone except my brother got the flu, even the cats. The real reason this is influential is because I would be even taller if I hadn't gotten it. It rendered me basically incapacitated for two whole weeks, so my body literally stopped growing for a few months, there's scarring on my kneecaps from it. Kind of scary for the parents of a four year old who almost died at least once a year.
-
This is pretty vague I was kind of young. But my brother remembers it better than I do, he was really angry for a while. I mostly felt bad.
-
What says blessed better than getting married on Friday the 13th! The wedding was especially amazing to me because I didn't even know it was happening until the Sunday before!
-
This was big because I got to sit in First Class all by myself while I was flying to Michigan to visit my Grandmother before the rest of my family came up!
-
Piedmont IB Middle School in center city Charlotte, I was just excited to not be going to one of the open schools in my neighborhood. No offense to anyone there.
-
I started playing Cello in the Piedmont Orchestra, and it kind of made a big impact, I'm still playing it.
-
Ella Aminah Washington was born right now, again in the same hospital that Naomi and I were born in. I wasn't there, but she looked pretty much the same as all newborns.
-
This is my favorite fun fact about myself. I broke my foot on Halloween, running away from a guy on stilts, but I just kind of ignored it for 6 months, and broke it a little more by walking on it.
-
This was pretty much the worst month of my life! Grandpa had an embolism on a plane back from Hawaii with my grandma and her friend.
-
Cancer wins again, Mom dies in Hospice after like 6 months of fighting.
-
Playing for Others, my favorite non-profit, taught me leadership and hopefully time management skills to use for this year.
-
First Day here at PLP! Just in time to leave the middle school a year later for my first day of high school!
-
On this day in history I walked across the courtyard and started 9th grade and the elaborate four year period we call upper school!
-
I'm not sure what this was. No one is. In third grade I was just really sick and no one knows why. But I think about it a lot, so I think it was important.
-
I'm not clear on whether or not it's a real divorce, but we moved out of Katherine's house, and into our own.
-
Got my first job at PDQ Concord! Hoping it goes well, just finished my training!

Junior year, getting geared to to really get ready for college. Terrified of the future, but slowly having to face that terror. And by slowly I mean daily,
