The Roman Empire had many reasons for the its end. There was political instability, economic and social problems, and weakening frontiers. By 476 C.E., the last emperor in the west was driven from his throne, and the western half of the empire began to dissolve into seperate kingdoms ruled by different tribes.
-
In 330 C.E., the emperor Constantine moved his capital to the east, to the ancient city of Byzantium. This empire continued for thousands of years, and is known now as the Byzantine Empire.
