The Inca empire

1425

In 1425 Viracocha Inca begins to build the inca empire. Later that year she is forced to retreated to a military outpost while his son successfully defeated Cusco. The inca empire was named after Viracocha Inca.

1438

In 1438 Pachacuti Inca Yupanqui begins a rebuilding programme in the Inca capital of Cuzco. Pachacuti Inca Yupanqui also defeated the Chancas to control the Cuzco Valley and further expand the Inca empire. Pachacuti Inca Yupanqui reigns as the leader of the Inca Empire.

1450

In 1450 Pachacuti Inca Yupanqui becomes the ninth emperor of the empire. Pachacuti founds Machu Picchu in the High Andes. The incas conquered the Chimu civilization based at Chan Chan.

1455

In 1455 Machu Picchu is the famous mountain-top built by Pachacuti. It was considered of four parts, the agricultural section, the religious section, the nobility section, and the residential section. It was never completed because of the Spanish Conquest when they brought the smallpox.

1471

In 1471 Topa inca Yupanqui pushed the southern border empire to the Maule River in modern-day Chile. The sacred site of Pachacamac is taken over by the Incas. Reign of Inca Tupac Yupanqui who doubles the size of the Inca Empire.

In 1525 the Spanish explorers had already triggered the collapse of the state. They also carried smallpox, which wiped out a huge chunk of the population. While killing Huayna Capac and his chosen successor.

1532

In 1532 the Inca ruled an Empire that extended along the Pacific coast into the Andean Highlands from the northern border of modern Ecuador to the Maule River in central Chile. Spanish conquistador, Francisco Pizarro, lured Atahualpa to meet for a supposed dinner in his honor and kidnapped the emperor in November.

In 1533 Atahualpa was executed. The Spanish were far outnumbered by the locals and they easily sacked Cusco. Francisco Pizarro takes the inca capital of Cuzco.

In 1534 after the killing of Atahualpa, they put his brother Manco Inca as the new emperor. He worked with the spanish for a little but then they started having internal fights. He would use his advantage to escaped to the jungle.

1572

In 1572 Manco Inca Yupanqui and his men were found and killed. Once Manco died the spanish took over ruling, but with the diseases they were bringing it killed the population of inca empire. Then the empire just collapsed
