The Inca Empire was founded in the Cuzco Valley. Their capital city, Cuzco, was constructed there because the Cuzco Valley was full of fertile and rich soil. They believed that fertile soil would lead to success in which it did.

Viracocha Inca begins to build the basics of the empire; housing, farming, and continues to build their capital city Cuzco. Then, Pachacuti Inca Yupanqui begins his reign and continues on the work of Viracocha Inca. He expands the empire by conquering land and making advancements to society.

Machu Picchu is founded by Pachacuti Inca Yupanqui high in the Andes Mountains where the people began to thrive even more. There is an increase in artwork and trade in the society.

Palaces, fortresses, religious temples, and roads are built and spread throughout the empire. This was overseen by Huayna Capac, the Incan King at the time.

The Spanish have conquered most of the empire and have slaughtered thousands of Inca or either captured them. The Spanish conquistador who led this conquest, Francisco Pizarro, gives the choice of converting to Christianity or death to the last Incan king, Atahualpa. Atahualpa chooses the latter and thus the downfall of the Inca Empire came into effect.
