    Pope Clement V moves to Avignon, acual date unknown. He lives here until his death.

    Clements VII appointed as pope

    Chosen by the Cardinals after the death of Clement V, acual date unknown.

    Pope Gregory XI Dies

    Actual date unknown. Will mean that the college of cardinals will have to choose a new pope.

    Urban VI appointed as pope.

    This cause a despute known as the Great Schism. Both Clement VII and Urban VI claimed each other were not real popes. This caused the church to divide between the two popes.

    Great Schism still Unresolved

    There were still three popes that were in power. The council of constance attempted end to Great Schism but failed.

    The 3 popes resigned from their position, Martin V was appointed to be the new one and only pope.

    The Great Schism was ended by the termination of Clement V, VII, Urban V and the election of Martin V.
