    General Estates Meeting
    This general estates meeting of the three parties (the clergy, the nobels, and the people) was organized by King Louis the 16th in order to address grievances and attempt to find a solution to the national debt. The people suggested that the nobels and clergy be taxed as a means to fix the economy, but they were silenced by the King himself for the entire meeting. The people were taxed heavily, so this was a breaking point for the people of France.

    Feudalism Abolished in France
    The ancient regime feudalism was abolished in France by the National Constituent Assembly, a government based off a political party making up 98% of France, known as the Third Estate. This was a major event as it made a move towards a modern government, and was a building block for a new, much fairer form of governing.

    The National Constituet Assembly created the decleration to make the basic rights of all people, even Women and Africans, clear. It was heavily influenced by the ideas of enlightenment.

    France Declares War Against Prussia and Austria
    The French people felt anti- revolutionists were sturring up alliances with other European powers, and they made the decsision to attack. This would later decrease hope for the revolution and lead to the bloodiest year of the revolt.

    Execution of King Louis the 16th
    King Louis was beheaded after he attempted to escape with his wife. This event shocked all European Kings as they were under his protection, and they declared war on France. Three major powers include Italy, Spain and Great Britain.

    Jacobins Take National Convention
    The Jacobins revolutionary party took control of the government in order to increase morale for the revolution and the war. Robespierre, the leader at the time, started what is now known as the Reign of Terror, and for good reason. Thousands of supposed anti-revolutionists were executed. This was supposed to fix the war effort in Robespierre's eyes, and supprisingly, the tide of the war did turn.

    This was the bloodies time of the revolution, with thousands beheaded in just ten months. The event, institiuted by the Jacobins, gave the French revolution a horrible name with the other countries.

    Robespierre was beheaded for the thousands of deaths he caused and the fear he insued. This brought an end to his Reign of Terror, a bloody and gruesome time for all French citizens.

    The praised general famous for beating back the Europeans fighting against France during the revolution, took control of France and ended the bloodshed of the revolution with a succsesful Coup Detat.
