    This was the foreign policy of Napoleon I of France in his struggle against Great Britain during the Napoleonic Wars. They forbade the import of British goods into Europe allied with or dependent upon France.

Upon Napoleon's return to power in 1815, many states that had opposed him formed the Seventh Coalition and began to mobilize armies. Two large forces under Wellington assembled close to the north eastern border of France.
