This is the most signifacant events of the French Revolution because an angry mob successfully pressed their demands upon King Louis XVI, the next day the King and his family and most of the French Assembly were brought to Paris. King Louis XVI is officially powerless.

The new form of government in France is the directory system. Many people did not like the directory system and felt it should end. Although the Directorate had great military success.
