7000 women marched towards Versailles complaining about the bread shortages. During the storm of the palace there were few who died protecting the palace. The king had no other option and give in to the demand. -

The king would have to share power with the Legislative Assembly under the Constitution of 1791, France was to function as constitutional monarchy. -
War on Prussia
France declared war on Austria. Prussia joined up with Austria against France. -

A huge execution of people on the the guillotine on the slightest suscpicion. This lasted for one year. -

Louis XVI was executed on the guillotine for conspiring with the Austrians. -

In Vendee, peasants revolted against the French Revolutionary government. -
Thermidorian Reaction
The Thermidorian Reaction led to the arrest and execution of Robespierre. -
La Marseillaise
The song "La Marseillaise", by Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle was adopted as the French national anthem. -
Coup of 18 Brumaire
Napoleon staged the coup of 18 Brumaire which installed the Consulate. This effectively brought Napoleon to Dictatorship.
