    Third Estate wanted all estates to meet in a single body and count the heads instead of voting seperatly. Before the votes were counted by one vote per estate. Because of this the third estate was always outnumbered by the other estates even if they had more people.

    The thrid estate of france declared itself as the national assembly. They did this because it would allow them to create their own constitution.

    The parisians assembled outside the Bastilles and demanded gunpowder and guns. The commander of the Bastilles refused and open fired on the crowd.

    The document was modeled in part on the American Declaration of Independence. Its principles were caputured by the quote, "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity"

    Louis the 16th was put on trial for being a trator of France. He was convicted by one vote and was sentenced to the guillotine.

    Maximilien Robespierre assumes leadership of the committee of public safety
    Maximillien who was a powerful politician assumed leadership of the committee of public safety. He agreed with rousseau on his idea of legitimate law.
  • Robespierre is guillotined

    Robespierre is guillotined
    The convention was tired of his rein of terror so they sentenced him to die by the guillotine.
  • Napolean Bonaparte siezes power

    Napolean Bonaparte siezes power
    Napoleon Bonaparte succeeded in battles which led to the appointment to the First Consul. Afterwords, he crowned him the emperor of France.
  • Napoleon defeated by British at the Battle of Waterloo

    Napoleon defeated by British at the Battle of Waterloo
    Duke of Wellington commanded British forces and the Prussian army commanded by General Blücher worked together. They worked together to defeat Napoleon.
