    Meeting of the Estates General
    In 1789, King Louis agreed that the estaes general should have a meeting. It was a huge oppertunity for the poor people of the third estate to be heard by the king. They did not want to pay taxes being poor they thought it was unfair. The third estate found out that their votes did not matter and they rebelled causing them to get locked out of their own meeting place. They all secretly held a meeting at a temnis ball court and made a constitution for France
  • Storming of the Bastille

    Storming of the Bastille
    king Louis didn't approve of the new Assembly so on July 14, a mob of parasians went to the Bastille, an ancient prison, looking for weapons. The Parasians shot Bastilles commander and put his head on a long stick and paraded. This proved to all of France that the Parisian mob was the main power in France

    Creation of the Natoinal Assembly
    The Creation of the National Assembly was to reorganize the church. Their main purpose was to create a new constitution. it was made up of the various estates. It's main accomplishments were the "Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen" and the establishment of a limited monarchy.once there was a n agreement for a new constitution, the creation of the national assembly ended.

    Declaration of the Rights of man and of the citizen
    This was a document issued by the France's National Constitution and assemblyon August 27, 1789. The document laid out the basic principals of the French Revolution, "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity." It stated that all men are created equal and remain equal before the law. The rights did not extend to the women, so the women came together and created a play that wrote a Declaration for Womens Rights but the National Assembly turned it down.

    The National Convention or Convention, in France, comprised the constitutional and legislative assembly. It held executive power in France during the first years of the French First Republic. The convention drew up a constitution which suspended King Louis xvI reign over France..It also abolished slavery in French colonies.

    The king was placed on trial on January 21, 1793. The Montagnards were eager to kill the king in order to prevent a return of the monarchy and defend theRevolution from its enemies, The king was pushed into place on the guillotine, a device that dropped a heavy, sharp blade through the victums neck.

    Reign of Terror
    Thousands of French were executed and killed because of a display of intimidation of power. It was also a wave of executions of presumed enemies of the state. This was essentially a war dictatorship instruded to rule the country in a national emergency
  • Coup d'etat

    This is the overthrow of the government usually by a small group of people previously in positions of authority. If Coup d'etat neither fails nor overall acheivement, the attempted Coup is likely to lead to a Civil War
