Citizens stormed the bastille, robbing it of the massive amounts of gunpowder it held. People who partisipate swore an owth of "fidelity to the nation, the law, and the king." -
Rights of man and citizen
All men declared equal, allowing no man to be 'above' the law. -
Louis XVI executed
After a very quick "trial," Louis was executed becuase he ran away from his country. He also was ploting a war against the country. -
Maximilien Roberspierre takes leadership
When the "uncorrupable" takes exesive power. He then goes on to have thousands of his people killed. At one point in the revolution, up to 800 people were being killed a month! -
Robespierre is killed
He is killed after not telling his new list of suspected rebals. People were worried that they would be on the list -
Napoleon Bonaparte takes power
Bonaparte seizes power over the french gov. -
Battle of Waterloo
before the fight Napolian said, "This whole affair will not be more serious than swallowing one's breakfast." This, however, was Napoleons biggest failure, more than 20,000 French soldiers died. Waterloo now is a symbol for utter defeat.
