I can remember not having a phone in my parent's house. Next door my grandmother had a rotary phone.

TV's were huge back in the day. I remember having floor models in the living room.

At home, we had a record player, an 8 track player, and 13 channels on the TV.

My grandmother upgraded to a push button phone that hung in the kitchen.

We usually kept a VCR, and mom and dad would rent videos from Rite Aid or Tape Hut.

My brother and I finally got a small TV put in our room. It had dials to change channels, a dial for UHF channels, and you had to turn a dial to fine tune the picture.

I start to fall in love with rock music. I start asking for cassette tapes and record tapes from the radio and copy them from neighbors. Then I got my first walkman and headphones

In middle school, all my friends started using CD's and Discmen. Feeling the pressure to keep up, I stole one from a local store. My parents busted me, and I was grounded for a year. I eventually did some odd jobs and bought one.

In 1996, I get to take classes in the high school computer lab and learn keyboarding, Publisher, Word, and Netscape.

I get to use the Berea College computer lab for anything I want, but mostly research papers.

I bought my first computer, an E-Machine. It burnt discs, played DVDs, and I could get on the internet. It had a huge boxy monitor too.

Yeah, my iPhone carrying friends can't iMessage me, so I get an iPod touch. It was about time anyway, someone stole my video iPod about 3 years earlier.
