  • The Beginning

    City of Hudson
    I was born in a small, country town in Hudson, New York. My mom is from Cuba and my dad is from Brazil.
  • My Cousin is Born

    My Cousin is Born
    My cousin Paula is born in Loma Linda, CA. She quickly became my best friend and we grew up doing everything together. She is still one of my best friends.
  • Abuelito Dies

    My mom's dad had prostate cancer and he died about a year after I was born. I don't really remember him but my mom talks about him all the time. I can't wait for the day I get to see him again when Jesus comes back for us.
  • Moving to California

    We move to Loma Linda, California. My mom gets a job working at Loma Linda University Medical Center and my dad starts teaching at San Gabriel Academy.
  • My Other Cousin is Born

    My Other Cousin is Born
    My second cousin, Daniella, is born. She is Paula's little sister and she was born only a few months before my sister. All four of us grew up together, like sisters. I love her very much.
  • My Little Sister Arrives

    My little sister is born in San Bernardino, CA. I always wanted a sister and prayed that God would give me one, and he did.
  • Toothfairy

    I lost my first baby tooth. It scared me to death, feeling it moving in my mouth and I cried when it finally came out. But the toothfairy gave me 2 quarters for it, and that made it all better!
  • First Day of School

    I started kindergarten at Loma Linda Academy. I liked the school but it was a little too big for me. I was only there for 2 years and then I moved schools.
  • Petisa Comes Home

    Petisa Comes Home
    I have always loved cats and finally my parents got me a Siamese cat. I loved that cat and named her Petisa. I still have my cat to this day. She is old but I still love her very much.
  • Piano

    I began piano lessons at 6 years old. It was not something that I loved but I really do appreciate that my parents made me learn to play it. I took piano lessons for 8 years and I still remember how to play it.
  • Tia Winie's Death

    My family and I went to Brazil for my Tia Soniah's wedding. She is my fathers youngest sister. My other aunt, Tia Winie, also went. She was also like a second mother to me. Two days after the wedding my Tia Winie was in a car accident. She died instantly. It was the first time I had experienced death with someone so close to me.
  • First Kiss

    My first boyfriend, Marcelo asked me if I wanted to comeover and hang out with him and his brother at his house. I went over and we watched movies and played outside. When it was time for me to go, he pulled me towards him and kissed me. It was such an awkward feeling but I'll always remember that first kiss.
  • Baptism

    My cousin and I had been going to bible studies together and we decided that it was time for us to get baptized. My grandfather and grandmother came all the way from Brazil to be there. And my grandfather, who is a paster, baptized us.
  • Drivers License

    The first time I took my drivers license I did not pass. This saddened me greatly and it took me 2 months before I was able to take it again. But this time I passed with flying colors.
  • No More Peace

    My parents get us an English-Springer Spaniel called and we call her Fuffy. She has a personality all of her own and is a little bi-polar. But we love her anyway and she makes our home a fun place to live.

    For my 18th birthday my parents gave me my dream car, a VW Beetle. I love my car and even brought it with me to Texas. I take it everywhere!
  • High School Graduation

    I finally graduated from La Sierra Academy! I had been there for 6 years and was ready to graduate.
  • La Sierra Univerisity

    La Sierra University
    My first college was La Sierra Univerisity. It was a great school and only about 20 minutes away from home. I began by studying biology but then quickly realized that wasn't for me. After about a year of college, I realized I wanted to be a teacher.

    My family from my mom's side did a family reunion in Miami, Florida and we got to go on a cruise. It was so much fun and I absolutely loved it!
  • I Was Blind, But Now I See

    I have worn glasses since I was 8 years old. My vision got so bad that I couldn't see anything without my glasses. My parents and I talked about doing LASIK surgery and I finally had the surgery done at Loma Linda University Hospital. It is amazing to be able to see perfectly without having to use glasses or contacts.

    My sister and I had the privilege to study in the program Adventist Colleges Abroad in Florance, Italy. We were there for 5 weeks. We studied Italian, History of Italy, Art, and even took some cooking classes. It was the best summer I had ever had!
  • Southwestern Adventist University

    After being at La Sierra University for 2 years I decided to transfer to Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas. It was probably one of the best choices I have ever made. I joined the education department and immediately fell in love with teaching. I was also able to grow a lot spiritually and discover more about who I was.

    I meet the greatest person in the world, Danesa Serns. She helped me with everything and we quickly became best of friends. She is amazing!
  • Vova Dies

    Vova Dies
    My dad's grandmother, Vova, was the most amazing person in the world to me. She was so spiritual and always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. She was such an inspiration to me and I can't wait to see her again when Jesus calls her name.
  • First Time as a Substitute Teacher

    Keene Adventist Elementary School asked me to substitute for the 3rd grade teacher. I was very excited and it was a blast. I love teaching!
