    Julius Caeser's Assassination
    After Juilus Caeser created the first trimuverite he wanted to be the dictater of Rome. On March 15th 44 B.C.E.(Ides of March) Julius Caeser was assassinated by his senator, he was stabbed. This brought an end to Caesers plot to become the dictator of Rome. Civil war broke out.

    The Second Triumvirate
    After civil war the second triumverate emerged-Octavian, Mark Antony, and Lepidous. Lepidous stepped down, then Antony meets Cleopatra, the queen of Egypt, they become allies. Octavian no longer trusts Antony and they fight for rule. Octavian wins. Cleoparta believes that Antony is dead and kills herself, Antony finds her dead and then kills himself.

    After Octavian won he earned the name Augustus Caeser. He becomes the first Roman emperor. Rome enters 200 years of peace Pax Romana. Those 200 years were the most important to the Roman civilization. The Roman expanded even farther and farming became the main source of the economys income. The government remained strong for 200 years because of the strong leaders, a vast rading network, a strong military, and a clear set of laws,

    Roman Law
    Roman law was and important part of keeping a strong government. These laws kept Rome intact for so long. A person accused of any crime was innocent untill proven guilty. A person was not aloud to see the accused untill trial. There had to be enough evidence to be proven guilty. Judges were expected to interperate laws and make fair decisons. Romes laws become the base of our laws today.450 B.C.E. the 12 Tables put all laws in written form, the first form of laws.

    Marcus Ruled from 161 C.E.to 180 C.E. last of the 'good emperors' that lasted through Pax Romana. He unified the Romans empires ecomony. He spend most of his tme fighting rebellions and invations. He chose his son Commodus as his successer. And thus Pax Romana came to an end after Commodus becomes the emperor of Rome.

    Commodus was Marcus' son and successer, he brought an end to Pax Romana. He just wanted control over Rome, he was an extremely social emperor and spent most of the governments money on entertianment like gladiator battles adn chariot races. He just wanted the power so he let others help him lead so he didnt have to do any work. When the government ran out of money he killed the rich and took thier money. 12 years after he was killed, his own sister plotted his dealth. Civil war began, 50 years.

He set Rome on fire accentdently but blamed the christians, christians were killed. The army dwindled, he had to hire mercenarys from other countries they werent loyal. Emprie was hard to controled because of its size.

    Civil war broke out, fought over Milvation Bridge. Constantine saw Chiro in the sky which means "Under this sign you will conquer." He had the soldiers mark their shields with the cross that he saw. They won, after the win Constantine became christian because he thought the christain god sent him that sign. Licinius wanted power so he and Constantine fought. Constantine won soon after united empire and converted to christiananty.

In 455 vandles left powerless,476 Ostrogoths led final collapse. East empire remained strong and Constantinople becamt eh capital of the Byzantine Empire

    Diocletion tried to fix the empire by nameing a co-emperor Maximum. He spilt Rome in two east and west, he had a vice emperor. Two emperors in each east and west Rome, and formed a tetrarchy- 4 rulers. He doubbled the size of the army. He also improved taxes by putting money back intothe empire. But he didnt pick a successer so after his dealth civil war broke out.
