  • Thirty Years War

    Thirty Years War
    The Thirty Years War started off with the new head of state of the Roman Empire, Emperor Ferdinand. Ferdinand took power as a dictator and forced the Catholic religion onto the people living there. They had to revolt, causing the Thirty Year's War. During this long war, many events took place such as the Bohemian states wanting to break away from the Roman Empire. This war changed the balance of power for both politics and the church.

  • English Bill of Rights

    English Bill of Rights
    The English Bill of rights came into place in 1689 by the rulers of England, William, and Mary. The significance of this document gave the Parliament more power over the monarchy.     War of the Austrian Succession
    This was caused by the succession of a female to the crown of Austria, Maria Theresa. Her being a woman, caused much tension. Because of her gender, she was attacked by King Frederick of Prussia. He started many wars in sought-after places in Austria, later becoming known as the War of the Austrian Succession. Out of this event, Austria and Prussia were able to come to terms with each other, later becoming allies.

  • American Revolution

    American Revolution
    The American Revolution was the result of built-up tension between British authoritative figures and colonists. The colonists felt like they weren't a part of the government, and didn't have a say. This led to a revolt from the colonists causing the 13 colonies to form. During this event, many wars and boycotts broke out, such as the Boston tea party. This revolution ended up creating the United States of America.

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was an attempt made by the British government to raise taxes on items that didn't need a raise, such as newspapers, dice, and legal documents. They attempted this only to try and get more money to pay off debts they owed to other countries. This event was one of the big causes of the American Revolution. The British Government received so much pushback that they had no choice but to repeal it.

  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    After the end of the American Revolution, the leaders from the 13 colonies came together to sign a treaty with Britain. In this treaty, Britain would promise to acknowledge the U.S. as its own independent nation, among many other points. After this treaty was signed, the war between nations was officially done away with, resulting in a peace that has been kept ever since then, with minor conflicts occurring every so often.

    The French Revolution started during the summer of 1789. It made France come to an end with its Monarchy and made more equal rights regarding women. Many battles and protests such as the Storming of the Bastille and the Reign of Terror took place. It was caused by Louis XVI's lavish spending which angered the people living there. This Revolution went on for about a year and ended with the Reign of terror along with Napolean's rise to power.

    The Tennis Court Oath is exactly what it says, an oath made on a tennis court. This Oath was made by the deputies of the Third Estate back in 1789. It consisted of a promise they made to stick together as a team until there was a constitution created for France.

    Storming of the Bastile
    The Storming of the Bastille was one of the first attacks that marked the French Revolution. This was an attack from the revolutionaries on the Bastille fortress. A big mob of revolutionary men showed up getting ready to knock the fort down. The governor of Bastille eventually gave up and surrendered the fortress. He was later arrested and murdered by the mob. This event also marked the end of the Reign of Terror.

    Reign of Terror
    The reign of terror was a time during the French Revolution where the government at the time, which included Maximilien de Robespierre and the Committee of Public Safety, dictated France. They killed anyone that was for the French Revolution. Everyone living there at the time was so scared so they also revolted, ripping Robespierre out of his home and killing him. After this execution, this time in history was officially over.
