• Graduated High School

At the time of graduation I had already declared my major and had already registered for my classes. So this time is essentially where my college career began.
  • Started College at Shawnee

This was my first day of college. I started as an electromechanical engineering major.
  • Obtained My Third and Current Job at KFC of Waverly

I know.. A third job by the age of 18 sounds like a lot, but I had my reasons for resigning from the first two. To be fair to myself I left on good terms with both previous places of employment. From my experiences at my jobs I have learned a lot about how the world operates. Also they made me further understand why it was important to further my education.
  • Changed My Major to Middle-Childhood: Social Studies and Science

After some soul searching during my first two semesters at college I realized that I did not want to make a career of being an engineer. I really realized that it does not matter the amount of money you make at a job, and that you most ultimately love what you do. So I thought about it and teaching would be the only thing that would be fulfilling enough to me that I would always wake up loving what I am doing.
  • Started Back at Shawnee with My New Major

This start to the semester was actually much more exciting, even more so than my very first semester of college, now that I had found something that I was passionate about.
  • Start of the New Semester and Beginning the Phonics Course

This is once again another exciting semester for me as I am marching forward towards my goal of becoming an educator. I understand that this class will be a very important step on that path. What I really would like to get from the class is how learning phonics can impact a students entire school career.
