Main Leader: Louis Farrakhan
-From a young age Louis was confronted with the injustices that the US had towards African Americans as well as other minorities. Louis was introduced to the Nation of Islam organization by a singer while on tour in Chicago, Illinois.
-Later, in the 1980s, Louis began a new Nation of Islam. This organization referred back to Elijah Muhammad’s teachings and philosophies.
-Continues to fight against segregation today

Malcolm X begins preaching for the Nation of Islam
-In prison, Malcolm began to educated himself and converted to Islam.
-Thanks to Elijah Muhammad, Malcolm quickly became a key spokesperson for the Nation of Islam.
-Malcolm believed that integration between races was not necessary and that white men could not be trusted
