    Also know as the Peninsular War, it was fought between the French and the Spanish, Portuguese, and British forces in on the Iberian peninsula. It lasted from May 2, 1808 to April 17, 1814. It was a failure for the French as it was a side problem that they had to deal with for a long time, and that ultimately contributed to their defeat.
