My mom was doing her masters degree in business and purchased a video writer after our typewriter was knocked off the desk and broke. It was amazig to "save" our work and fix our mistakes without correction tape.

I remember playing "Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?" and printing my school essays on the dot matrix!

How cool! I didn't have to sit at the desk in the kitchen! I could sit on the couch.

We had to print the proofs, tape them together and DRIVE them to the printer.

When I got my driver's license I was given my first brick, I mean cell phone. I was only allowed to use it in an emergency! It was $40/month for 20 minutes. I kept it and a charger in my glove box. It was even cooler than my dad's car phone because I could carry it around if I wanted a work out.

I sent my first email from my account at UW.

What! I don't have to go to the lab on campus? Amazing! We had a shared internet account in my building we had wires running from apartment to apartment! I think it might have been DSL. I'm not even sure! I paid the guy upstairs $10 a month so I had internet on my personal desktop.

My Franklin Planner went digital! I had to carry that and a phone. Sheesh. What a burden!
