My Spiritual Journey
This timeline contains the major events in my life and where I have sensed or known God's presence. -
Birth
I was born on Oct. 6 1962 to Charles and Ann Marin in Corpus Christi, Texas, at Spohn Hospital on Ocean Drive. The Gulf of Mexico was the view from my hospital window, and I love the beach and ocean today. I think the place of my birth has a little something to do with that! I find the ocean a wonderful manifestation of the grandeur of God and the peacefulness of his spirit. -
Baptism
I was baptised at St. Cyril and Metholdius Church in Corpus Christi Texas. I don't remember the occassion because I was an infant, but it was a very special family event for my parents and godparents and me. When I go back and visit the church, I always sense God's presence in a special way. -
Angel Spot
When I was little, I use to go to a spot in the backyard that was hidden in a shaded corner of the outside of the house. It was my spot to be with my "angel". My parents had told me I had an angel that watched over me and I liked to incision my angel with me through out the day. The spot in the yard was peaceful and I liked going there from time to time. It was one of my first experiences of God as a child. -
First Communion
This was a special occassion of receiving the bread and wine of Jesus. I ha prepared to receive communion with my classmates at St. Pius IV Catholic school. I was excited, loved my dress, and felt close to God and family. -
Moved from my childhood home
This was a difficult time in my young life. I missed my friends, neighborhood, and the familiar things of home. This move was followed by another move out of the country three years later. Both moves were difficult but they were times of growth and maturity in my life. I learned how to deal with loss in a small way and embrace the unknown.
