    This is the day when I was born into this wonderful world. I was born in the Philippines and I am the youngest out of 5.

    Without this event, I would not be the person that I am today. I am grateful for the friends and family that I have today and if this day never happened, I would not get the chance to live. Being born makes me feel grateful that I came out healthy and also makes me more willing to live life to the fullest.

    Coming to America
    I came to America when I was 3 which allowed me to have more opportunities as a child. This moment transformed me into an open minded person because it made me aware of different cultures and allowed me to have a new perspective.

    Coming to America is an event that makes me thankful because I was given more opportunities. If I never came to America, I would not have as much freedom and a well prepared education. This transformed me because it allowed me to not take my education for granted and make me a more principled learner.

    During my first day of school, I became more aware of my surroundings. I was very nervous because my English wasn't very well but this experienced transformed me to work hard.

    I never went to preschool therefore I didn't really know what to expect when coming into a classroom. I was very nervous and scared because I was alone from my parents but because of this day I became engaged and determined to learn and meet new people. This event allowed me to improve my communication skills.

    When I saw my name on the honor roll for the first time, my parents were so proud of me which then made me keep on striving to get on the honor roll from that point on.

    I love to make my parents happy. Whenever it was report card pick up day, I would love seeing my name on the honor roll and it also made my parents happy. I felt proud of myself because I stood out and because of this I always strived to see my name on the honor roll. I became a very studious person ever since.

    Joining Girls on Track
    Joining girls on track 5th grade opened up a habit of running. To this day, I still like to run as a hobby. Running has impacted my life because I began to realize how important physical health is.

    I never really played sports growing up but I did know that I loved to run. I would run for fun and one day my school introduced me to girls on track. Ever since that day I was completely in love with running. To this day I still run and this event transformed my social skills because I was able to meet new people.

    Becoming a pescatarian really impacted my life because it really opened up my eyes to different healthy foods. I used to hate eating healthy but ever since I became a pescatarian, I transformed into a healthy person mentally which I know will be essential to the future. This event made me more honest on myself.

    Becoming a pescatarian made me aware of the foods that we eat and made me into a healthier person. Because of my pescatarian experience I am now a healthier person mentally and allowed me to love vegetables as well as fruits.

    Camp Harvest opened up my faith because I got a chance to meet new people in my youth group. This experienced shaped my life because it taught me more about my faith as well as what I should strive for in life.

    Joining a camp that was about my faith really shaped me into a a patient person. Becoming a Christian made me experience gratitude on everything and it just transformed my life. Without this event, I would have been so lost in my faith.

    Traveling to LA made me want to live in LA when I'm older. I've always wanted to live in LA but being there in person for the first time was so special because I saw myself living there in the future.

    Traveling LA transofrmed me into an easygoing and adventerous person. I always wanted to live in LA when I was little and when I was there it just made me realize that there’s so much more to explore in the world which increased my curiousity.

    Loosing a family friend changed me into a more understanding person. Before this tradgedy happened, I didn’t take mental illness seriously. Because of this I now think of other’s feelings and not take it for granted.

    Joining something that is new and unfamiliar to me such as graphic design with people that I did not know was a risk that I had to make this year. I have to go downtown every Monday, Tuesday and Saturday. I learned a new skill by doing this program.

    Joining After School Matters improved my work ethnic as well as transforming me into a risk taker. I didn’t know anyone in this program at the start and it is all the way downtown. I was neverous but I knew that I had to take risks in order for new opportunities to happen.
