My Life in Movies- Kristen Wickens

  • The Sound of Music

    The Sound of Music
    Title:
I feel like I have a very deep connection with music and not only do I love this movie, but the title just sums up my whole life. I am a very musical person, I love to sing when I'm alone and play instruments. One of my favorite things to do ever, are play my guitars and record music.
  • Toy Story- Andy

    Toy Story- Andy
    Character:
I can relate to Andy because at a yard sale when I was 10, my mom accidentally placed one of my favorite toys in the wrong box and someone ended up buying it. Thankfully, I somehow managed to get it back without much trouble.
  • Marley and Me

    Marley and Me
    Scene:
This scene made me think of the times when I lost pets that were very close to me. My aunt and uncle's dog died, which was very depressing for me and was hard to comprehend what was actually happening when I was just 8 years old. In the next few years, my cat passed away which was extremely heartbreaking for me.
  • E.T.

    E.T.
    Scene:
I chose this movie because it was a huge part of my childhood. The scene in the movie where Elliot first witnesses the UFO reminded me of an experience I had once when I was 15. It happened when I opened the door to let my cat back in the house, and there with this huge object flosting over the roof of my house. It happened really quickly so I wasn't able to retain many details of the incident, but I recall being really frightened. To this day, I still cannot describe what it was I saw.
  • The Wizard of Oz

    The Wizard of Oz
    Setting:
My cousin and I have an inside joke about this line we came up with when she visited. Her happened to be living in Kansas at the time she came to visit me and my family. I remember the time when I went out to visit her in Kansas.
  • It's a Wonderful Life

    It's a Wonderful Life
    Quote:
"Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?' -Clarence I chose this quote because I believe that every single person makes a difference in the world. Someone always cares and no matter what, someone will forever leave a mark or some kind of an impact on another person's life.
  • Bandslam

    Bandslam
    Setting:
My friend and I went to see this movie in the theater. We came up with an inside joke about our names that all started with a character in the movie. In that same year, I also started a band with her and a few other friends. This movie takes place in Texas where one of my best friend lives. I've been planning to visit her soon.
  • Mean Girls- Cadie

    Mean Girls- Cadie
    Character:
I can relate to Cadie because I had a group of friends in middle school who pressured me to do questionable things and I always felt uncomfortable around them when they would force something on me. They wanted to transform me into something I wasn't and made me really question who my true friends really were.
  • Perks of Being a Wallflower- Charlie

Perks of Being a Wallflower- Charlie
    Character:
I can relate to this title because Charlie, Sam, and Patrick are a group of three 'misfit' friends. I've always felt like a misfit with my two close friends. Sometimes when you don't fit in, you will find the most interesting of people who end up becoming your friends.
  • Perks of Being a Wallflower

    Perks of Being a Wallflower
    TItle:
I would know, there are many perks to being a wallflower. I am a wallflower, on the outside looking in. I'm really shy and quiet most of the time and find myself being an observer. I always have a lot to say but I can't always put it into words.
  • The Breakfast Club

    The Breakfast Club
    Quote:
"We're all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that's all." -Andrew This quote stuck out to me mainly because I believe all people have a quality that others find strange, but that 'strange' person could find something as equally strange about the person judging them. And that is why I hate when people label each other with words like that.
  • Haunter

    Haunter
    Setting:
In this movie, Lisa wakes up everyday and relives the same day over again and tries everyday to convince her family. I once had a dream about this same exact thing. The house in my nightmare looked exactly like the one from in the movie. All this had happened before I saw the movie too... Pretty freaky.
  • The Fault in Our Stars

    The Fault in Our Stars
    Quote:
"You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world but you do have some say in who hurts you." I chose this quote because it reminded of how there have been people in my life who I have become close with that have hurt me. I have learned that you have a choice, to let things worsen and then there's always the better option of letting them go before you end up regretting it.
  • Ferris Bueller's Day Off

    Ferris Bueller's Day Off
    Scene:
This is the scene where Cameron wrecks his father's car. I can relate to this scene because I have a friend who had totaled his mom's car. It was a very distressing experience.
  • The Fault in Our Stars

    The Fault in Our Stars
    Title:
This title speaks to me because to me, what it means is that throughout everything special, there will come hardhips and moments that can be difficult to overcome and sometimes inevitable to avoid.
