My Life Goals

  • Birth

  • AJ was born

During this time, my family and I were living in an apartment that was not very extravagant, yet it was okay for my family since there was only two adults and two kids living in it. This would be the exact opposite today, sinse my family is consisted of 7 people rather than 4. So, financially we had more spending money since there was not as many people to provide for, such as going to the zoo more often.
  • Taylor was born

During this time, my Dad had just gotten a new job at a mortgage company, which caused my family to move from Louisville to Indianapolis. This new job provided my family with more stablity becasue it was a higher paying job. This was a good thing not only because it was more money but becasue we now had become a family of 5. There were more people to provide for.
  • Brooklyn was born

  • Harlem was born

Harlem is the youngest and therefore completed my family of 7. Having a large family has made it difficult financially, especially since we were all living in the same household. Having a large family with very limited income is a challenge, usually making us live paycheck to paycheck.
  • Tore my liver

I tore my liver right before going into 4th grade. This ended up causing my parents to pay medical bills that were not covered by our insurance during that time.
  • My dads job closed down

When my family was living in Indianapolis, the mortgage company that my dad was working at closed down due to financial issues. During that time my mom didn't work becasue she had 4 children and a newborn to take care of. Due to the fact that we no longer had income coming our way, we had to move to Bloomington with my grandma. My parents had to save up in order to have enough money to get a new house.
  • House Change

After living in Bloomington for 3 years, my family moved to a new house in Evansville. While my family was living in Bloomington, at my grandma's, my parents finally saved up enough money to get our own place. My dad worked at I.U. and my mom worked at Applebee's. This house change got my family back on the right track.
  • First Job

I got my first job during the summer of my freshman year at the Clarion Inn and Conference Center. This was the first time that I was providing my self with my own money and I had to learn how to manage it, such as saving and spending.
  • My Job Closed

The day after christmas, I found out that the Clarion Inn had closed down. I am currently trying to find a new job so that I can keep my money balance in a range that I want it to be. I have to spend less and save more so that I dont run out of money before I find a new job. I usually have good spending habits, I dont usually spend on a whim except when I'm hungry. When I go to the mall or other places I usually put a certain amount of money in my wallet, an amount that I feel is okay to spend.
  • Go to College

I want to go to college so that in the future I will be stable financially.
  • Housing/Apartment

When I'm in college, I will probably get an apartment with a friend. This is so I don't have to face the financial stress by myself and will able to share that finance with someone else. Getting an apartment will be a challenge becasue I will have expenses that I've never had before, such as rent and other bills.
  • Career

I get my dream job and start to make a living off of the money that I earned each day. I started off with a fairly reasonable income, I would say about 40,000.
  • Marriage

I will have to share my finances with my husband and learn to compromise with things such as money and spending.
  • Children

I want to have at least 4 children so I would have to learn to sacrifice my personal finances for my children. With chilren come expenses, and I will have to learn to manage my money. I would have expense that are new to me such as buying more food, school expenses, transportation, daycare, etc.
