Growing up in a town where I went to the same school complex with primarily the same group of students for my entire K-12 formal education helped me to formulate the ability to form relationships and communicate with others in a comfortable environment.

My first formal educational experience is where my love for learning began to flourish.

Since my mother worked at the daycare and eventually the local school as an educational assistant, these experiences getting to know the staff and students of various age groups on a deeper level influenced my passion for learning and exploration.

Seeing my mother's joy for learning, education and desire to support students with exceptionalities on a regular basis began to form my passion for helping others as well as learning at an early age.

My first experience being apart of a team and truly learning alongside others. I played for 4 years. During this time I began to teach others and find joy when we both had success.

Since this was the first job I had outside of my family's business, this job has and continues to contribute to my development of confidence, communication and leadership skills.

While working at Stettler FCSS for two summers, I progressed as an individual and professional in many ways through my involvement in planning and implementing many events as well as working directly with the general public.

My first step on my way to becoming a teacher. I started in the Bachelor of Education Program: Elementary Route.

Through my summer job at Stettler FCSS, I had the amazing opportunity to volunteer and work at the local food bank almost weekly and continued to do so while I was school when I could. My passion for helping others continued to grow through this experience.

This has been an amazing learning experience that I can not wait to put into practice during my final practicum.

This form of hands-on learning allowed me to implement my previous knowledge while providing a more specific context that I could apply further learning to.

Extended practicum has been an amazing experience leading into my final practicum at the school I attended as a student.
