    Birth
In 1963, I was born in Memphis Tennessee at Baptist Hospital. My mom reports that I was her most difficult birth, but I only weighted 6 lbs. My parents report that I sucked my thumb until I was nearly 4. My mom used to put hot sauce on my thumb to discourage this behavior. It proved easy to wash off, so I continued to suck my thumb until I started kindergarten.

  • Little Brother

    Little Brother
In November of 1964, my younger brother Drew joined my sister Nelle and I. Drew was, and is, an outdoorsman. During my childhood we spent all of our time together collecting rocks, fishing, wrestling, playing touch football and climbing trees. During my young life, I chose outside activities and much preferred playing with boys.
  • Starting School

I began first grade at Holy Rosary Catholic School. One of my fears at this time was the principal, Sister Elizabeth. She was a scary lady that walked around the cafeteria at lunch making sure we ate every bite of our lunch.
  • My Parents were divorced

    My Parents were divorced
My parents divorced when I was 8 years old. My father moved out, so I was devastated and heartbroken. My siblings and I spent 6 months with my mom, and 6 months with my dad. A little while later, my dad bought a home for us in our same neighborhood. I was able to play with my neighborhood friends and go to either house depending on my mood. I felt much better, but often used this to manipulate my parents into doing what I wanted.
  • St. Agnes Academy

    St. Agnes Academy
Started school at St. Agnes Academy, an all girls school. We wore horrid, itchy uniforms and saddle oxfords. Sometimes the nuns used a yardstick to measure the length of our skirts to ensure that they were the required 3 inches below the knee. Regardless, I thrived at St Agnes, and made many amazing friends that I still have today.
In Spanish class one day, I fell asleep, and my girlfriends tied my shoe laces to the desk legs making me a prisoner. I was late to my next class.

    Daughter
In 1994, after years of wanting a child, I finally gave birth to my daughter. She was 13 days late because she is hard headed. Today, she is still hard headed, but is the love of my life.
