    Creation of Islam

    Islam was created in the early 600s by Muhammad; it is a religion that is very similar to Christianity and Judaism. Islam is the fastest growing religion, the only difference between the religions is that Christianity believes Jesus was the savior and Islam believes that Muhammad is the prophet. All of the religions all believe in one god, heaven and hell, and good versus evil. They also give people an explanation for the unexplainable.

    Charles Martel and his Frankish warriors battled a Muslim army that crossed into France, the Christians were victorious in this battle.     Battle of Kosovo

    The Battle of Kosovo, or the Battle of Blackbird's field was fought between the army led by Serbian Prince Lazar Hrebeljanović, and the invading army of the Ottoman Empire. The battle was between the Serbians and the Turkish. This event caused alot of hostility and anger between the Turkish and the Serbians. The fall of the Serbian Empire had a huge impact on the outcome of this battle.

    Taking of Constantinople

    The Ottoman Empire took over Constantinople in 1453 This officially marked the end of the Roman Empire which lasted over a thousand years. Whenever people fight over land or teritory they tend to hold grudges, if they truely believe it is rightfully theirs they are going to do whatever it takes to recipricate or get their homeland back. This event created alot of tension between the Eastern and Western worlds.

    The Crimean War was a conflict between the Russian Empire, and an alliance of the Ottoman Empire, British Empire and French Empire. This war was considered the first war to include technical changes, which greatly effected the future of warfare. A conflict brooke out over teritorial reasons.     The Suez Canal is an artificial waterway in Egypt that connects the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea. The Suez Canal has the nickname of "the highway to India". When the Canal was first built it was roughly one hundred miles long and 25 feet deep. The Canal allows ships that are 66 feet at the most. The Suez canal did not cause much conflict between the east and the west it just provided easier acces to India.

    Kemal Ataturk was a Turkish and Ottoman army officer. He was a militarty officer during WWI and was the first president of turkey. He was born into a family that was Muslim. Ataturk means "father of the turks" this name was granted to him by the Turkish parliament.

    Zionism is the defense of Jewish culture, it states that the land of isreal is their homeland. Due to Zionism Jews were liberated from anti-semitic discrimination and exclusion. Zionism meant freedom to the Jews. This Event caused conflict because it is impossible for all religions and ethnic groups to agree on what land is rightfully theirs.

    The Balfour Declaration was a letter from the United Kingdom's Foreign Secretary Arthur James Balfour to Baron Rothschild that basically said Jews are 100% equil to everyone else and should not be treated differently or segregated. This act obviously caused alot of conflict between the other religions that did not feel the same way about Jews. This is the way it should be, every human being should have the right to choose what they believe without being punished.

    The Ottoman empire came to a tragic end when the absense of acquisation of money occured. They eventually became broke and collapsed. This Empire came to a pre-mature ending right around World War I.
  • WWI Mandates

    World War I League of Nations Mandates were zones set up in certain territories that acted as a treaty or constitution. This provided for the right of petition and adjudication by the International Court. Rules must be regulated and approved by the league.

    The Creation of Israel was declared in the 1900s, this is the holy land to many religions such as Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Druze and Bahai. The creation of Israel lead to the creation of Hebrew, which was where the language first origonated. There is a major conflict caused by the creation of Israel because there is now a collision between the Arab and Jewish nationalist movements.

    Diaspora is when people are scattered and forced out of their homeland. Diaspora occurred in the Middle East when the Jews migrated in an involuntary manor. Forcefully being removed from their homeland, the Jews were not happy about this. The Romans drove them from what the Jews called their “homeland”.
