    Shi'ism

    Shi'ism
    Shi'ism which is also known as Imamiyyah or Twevers, is the biggest branch of Shia in present day, it makes up about 95% of the Shia Muslim population. In the country Lebanon the Shi'ism Shia muslims make up about 63% of the countries population today. This shows that the branch of religion that started in 632 CE is still being used in today's world. In Shi'ism they believe in the god Allah and his prophet Muhammad, which the sunnis also believe in.

    Umayyad dynasty

    The Umayyad dynasty was one of the first middle east dynasties. It lasted from 661-750 CE. During the Umayyad they spoke Arabic and their religion was Sunni muslim. During the Umayyad dynasty they had some great accomplishments but their most major ones were the creation of the Dome of the Rock, the House of Wisdom, and they were very tolerant of people of the book, which were Jews and Christians. The religions and dynasties continue throughout the years continuing to present day.

    Dome of the Rock
    The Dome of the Rock was created between 688 and 691 CE. It is said that the dome covers a slab of stone scared to both the muslim and Jewish faiths. The Christian mosque was covered inside and out with a bright confection of mosaics and scrolled verses from the Quran, while the crowning dome was covered in solid gold to so a beacon for Islam.

    Sharia law
    The Sharia law was created in the 7th century around the time that the Abbasid was made. Sharia is known as Islam's legal system. The law is derived from the holy book, the Quran, as well as the Sunnah and the Hadith. In Arabic, Sharia means "the clear, well-trodden path to water". Sharia acts as a code or telling for living that all Muslims should adhere to, including prayers, fasting, and donations to the poor. The law is still used to this day by many different Muslims in the middle east.

    Abbasid dynasty

    The religions and dynasties are continuing to change throughout time to present day. The Abbasid dynasty was the next dynasty created after the Umayyad. The Abbasid lasted from 750-1258 CE, and they were Shia Muslim which changed since the Umayyad. The Abbasid dynasty also had many believes just like everyone else, but some groups may not agree with other believes just like the Abbasid and Umayyad. The Umayyad were very tolerant of other religions, while the Abbasids were not.

    Golden age

    The golden age was a very important time for the middle east. The golden age lasted from the 8th century and lasted all the way to the 13th century. They had many different accomplishments throughout this time. For example, they made many different math systems like algebra, geometry, and calculus. They also had many advancements in science. Like chemistry, biology, medicine, and astronomy.

    Gunpowder
    During the Ottoman dynasty gunpowder was one of the greatest accomplishments during the dynasty. Since not many other places in the world back then had gunpowder, the middle east had a great lead over everyone else. Since they were the only ones to have gunpowder, it was very easy for them to take over different places and win many different wars. It was also a great way to expand there believes and grow bigger and bigger because it was so easy for them to take over different places.

    Ottoman dynasty

    The Ottoman dynasty was one of the most resent dynasties in the middle east, lasting all the way from 1299 to 1923. Making it almost 600 years. One of their most powerful leaders was Suliman the magnificent. Suliman lasted as the leader for almost 46 years and had many different accomplishments during his time. During the Ottoman dynasty they had many different accomplishments like being the first to use gunpowder giving them a huge advantage in wars.

    Battle of Constantinople

    Battle of Constantinople
    On May 29, 1453, the battle of Constantinople had begun. The war was between the advanced Ottoman dynasty with their guns and gunpowder, and the Byzantine Empire. The war had lasted almost two months landing at 55 days. Eventually the war had ended with the Ottoman empire, lead by Sultan Mehmed II, winning the war and taking over Constantinople. They changed the name from Constantinople to Istanbul after winning the war.

    Safavids dynasty

    Just like the Abbasid dynasty the Safavids were Shia muslim. They started in 1501 and lasted to 1736 CE. The Safavids also created their own branch of Shia Muslim which was called Shi'ism. While they also had a big development in poetry and philosophy.
