Because the soil and techniques used for Italian farming did not bring in as much money as many other places I have decided to move to a more fertile land, to escape poverty. Most Italians are farmers and most live in poverty.

Since I was trying to escape poverty, I did not have much money. Because I didn’t have very much money I had to ride steerage on the boat to America. The steerage section was crouded and many people were sick, i dont know if this was a good idea or not.

I met one of my paesani (person from the same village) when I got off the ship, he helped me find a job place to stay and told me about the free land. When i heard this about this amazing offer i knew i would have to jump on it.

Becuase my paesani helped me find i job, i now work at a pizzeria in northern Boston. The working conditions are tough and i still am not paid very much. I must find an alternate place to make a living.

Becuase my working conditions in the pizzaria were very bad i knew i had to leave. I heard about the free land in the west and since i had already been a farmer, i knew exaclty how it worked. I was going to move west.

Becuase i have chosen to try and get free land i must race and put my flag in a designated corner of land. The race is tough and some get injured but i manage i great area of land.

Because of drought on my land I run into economic difficulties, I find help from many people from my village. They help to improve on the land also.

Since I have had many people come and help me on my land, we are obtaining a lot of money and making a good living. Even though not everyone turns out this way, I was lucky and now have a great life.

Because I decided to do all of my actions, I turned out very fine in America and I glad I moved. I am living very well and keeping a good money flow.
