Madalyn Wahkinney 7th hour

  • Day I Was Born

I was born on December 5, 1996 in Lawton, Oklahoma. I think I came out at 5:52 p.m.
  • My Younger Brother Was Born

My brother was born on October 23, 1998. It was the same day as my mother and aunt's birthday.
  • Day I Met My Best Friend

I'm not sure about the date, but I met my best friend in kindergarten. We're still very close friends to this day. We met on picture day at school when we were about to take a class picture.
  • The Loss of My Grandmother

My grandmother died May 26, 2003, a day before her birthday. I think I was about 6 six years old,
  • Day I Had to Get Staples In My Head

When I was in 3rd grade, I did the stupidest thing ever. I thought I would be able to climb up the pole on a playground like a mountain climber. I tied a jumping rope to the pole and attempted to climb up by putting my feet on the pole and, basically, walk up the pole while holding onto the jump rope. Well, I accidentally hit my head on the wooden playground and it cut open. I ended up having to get the cut stapled. Now, my family makes fun of me for it.
  • The Incident That Happened In Fourth Grade

On the first day of fourth grade, I was playiing on the playground with my friend before school began. We were racing towards the slide, but there was a pipe thing around it. I attempted to jump over it, but I somehow hit my knee on the pipe. I rolled onto the sand, and immediately got up. While walking up the slide, I checked my knee and saw a huge gash on it. I ended up having to miss the whole day of school to go to the hospital and get seven stitches.
  • My First Dog

We got our first dog during my fourth grade year. My mother and I named him Hank. We named him after Hanks Williams, a country singer. Although, I named him after Hank the Cowdog from the book series. He is an Australian Sheperd mix, and he's massive.
  • First Phone

I got my first phone for my 12th birthday. I was really happy because then I could finally text all my friends.
  • My First Letter "C" Award

    My First Letter "C" Award
I got my first Letter "C" Award my 6th grade year. I'm not sure of the date though. I was shocked that I got one because I did not think I had a good GPA throughout the year.
  • Six Flags

    Six Flags
The first time I went to Six Flags was in the summer of 2009. I thought Six Flags was pretty fun, but not as fun as I thought it would be. The one part I didn't like about Six Flags was the pirate ship ride. I didn't like it because whenever it swung down, I would literally freeze up with fear. My mother even told me that she noticed I looked ill from her point of view on the ground. Although, I did like the AquaMan ride.
  • The Day I Met My Other Best Friend

In 7th grade, I met my other best friend, Maddie, in my Arts Appreciation class. We didn't start hanging out until 8th grade year though. We started to become friends over gum. She started asking me for gum in the classes we had with each other, and pretty soon, it became a daily thing. We laughed everytime she asked for a piece of gum and I said, "I knew you were going to ask that!!" Now, she's one of my best friends.
  • Abandoned House

During my sixth grade year, I held a birthday party for my 13th birthday. My friends and I decided to sneak off to an abandoned house about two houses down from my grandparents' house. Well, we went inside without noticing the "No Trespassing" sign stapled to the fence in front of it. When we opened the front door of the house, a rush of cold air hit us. It was weird because it was really warm outside. About a few weeks later, somebody boarded it up, so I think someone noticed us in there.
  • The Loss of My Grandfather

I lost my grandfather just three days after my birthday. It was sad because my family and I visited him every weekend, so we were pretty close. My younger brother cried at the funeral when they started playing the song "Amazing Grace." My grandfather always called my brother "Poker Roach." He called him that after my grandpa Roach's dad.
  • Cross Country

At the beginning of my eighth grade year, I joined cross country for the very first time. I decided to join because my P.E. teacher suggested I join. I absolutely fell in love with it, and I decided to stay in it.
  • My First 5K- 9th Grade Year

My First 5K- 9th Grade Year
I'm not sure of the exact date when my first 5K was, but it was in November. It was called "Frost Ya Fanny", and my friend and I ran together in it. I wasn't registered though because we didn't get to the registration thing in time. Although, I did pretty well.
