About 10-11 months after my mom dying, my older sister and I moved in with my aunt while my younger siblings moved to New York with my step-dad. I've lived with them ever since and am thankful for them taking us in.

When my sister was 13, she ran away from home. While the police found her, she decided not to come home and went into foster care until another family member took her in. I haven't seen her since. This event plus some previous life events led to my abandonment issues and depression.

The first three years of high school were a rollercoaster as I was dealing with relationships, making friends, and finding myself. I relied heavily on my friends for support until Coronavirus forced us all to self-isolate. While it started off very rocky, I learned to be less dependent on others for my happiness and doing better than I have been in the past 6 years.
