Leading to French Revolution

  • American Revolution

    American Revolution
The American Revolution was a fight between Britain and the American Colonists who fought for separation of Britain. This Revolution may have inspired the French Revolution because the French used some of the American rights in their own constitution, also it could have shown the French they have the rights to fight for something like independence or a new constitution.
  • France in debt, and taxes on the third estate

France in debt, and taxes on the third estate
King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette had a big money spending problem and practically "wasted" money, and because of this and other reasons France was in debt, which let alone angered France, but the King placed taxes on the third estate to pay off the debt, this angered France (mostly the third estate) even more. This could have led to the French Revolution because it angered France and made them want to make a new constitution and make things equal.
  • Food Scarcity

    Food Scarcity
In 1787 France had bad harvests and because of this they had a shortage of food, and because of this the privileged estates got more food than the third estate because they had money, this of course angered the third estate because they had starving children and women. This could have led to the French Revolution because it was unfair and a big part of the French Revolution was equality(fairness).
  • Tennis Court Oath

    Tennis Court Oath
In 1789, the third estates delegates followed by a couple nobles and clergies called upon a National Assembly to pass laws and reforms for the people of French, the King along with some nobles and clergies refused to allow this and locked them out of their meeting room, so they met at a nearby Tennis court and made the oath to stay in France and pass a new constitution. This led to the French Revolution because this path rebelled against the king and made the estates refuse to obey.
  • Declaration of the Rights of Man

Declaration of the Rights of Man
In 1789, the Declaration of the Rights of Man came out and it provided Liberty, property, security, and the resistance to oppression to men, this reflected the Enlightenment ideas and gave a little more equality to men, but this raised a question did it include women rights. Women believed it didn't and some refused to accept this. This could have led to the French Revolution because it wasn't fair to women who wanted rights and this means some women would rebel.
