Lab #2 Expanding on Erikson's Lifespan

  • Infant

A critical moment in my infancy would be building bonds with my parents and learning to trust them. This stage in life is learning to trust or mistrust, and because of how I was treated I learned to trust.
  • Period: to

    Toddler

This stage is about autonomy vs. shame/doubt in this stage I learned what no means because of my parents parenting me well. I was also successfully potty trained and gained a little independence. Meaning I gained autonomy rather than shame/doubt.
  • Period: to

    Preschooler

In this stage of life a child learns initiative vs. guilt. I had older brothers to help show me the way and play with me in when I was in this stage, so i developed normally. I was able to play with others and follow/ lead them.
  • Period: to

    School-Age Child

This is the stage were I learn industry vs. inferiority. I learned more how to connect with peers, follow rules, and I mastered basic classes that I needed to. I also learned discipline with my school work and how to manage homework.
  • Period: to

    Adolescent

In this stage I had the choice of finding my identity vs. role confusion. I had a hard time finding who I was up until 7th grade when I moved schools and found out who I wanted to be. I wasn't into sports or clubs. I cared about my friends and learned how navigate school, so I was an prospering student.
  • Period: to

    Young Adult

In this stage a person learns intimacy vs. isolation. I have had a long term boyfriend, so I would say that I am on the intimacy side of this stage.
  • Period: to

    Middle-Age Adult

In this stage a person can either be generative or stagnant. I plan to have a successful career in radiology, have a husband, and kids. I would consider this generative.
  • Period: to

    Older Age

This is the stage in life were a person goes through either integrity or despair. It is my hope that as long as my plan goes accordingly I will no go through despair, but look back on life and be fulfilled.
