English Project 1

  • Came Out

    Came Out
The day that I came out to everyone about being gay. I did it after school one day and told my sister on the way to the gas station. I was extremely nervous and it was extremely awkward, but I did it. I couldn't have done it if it weren't for Charlie's help in becoming comfortable with myself.
  • Meet Charlie (In-person)

    Meet Charlie (In-person)
After knowing for Charlie for a little over a year and being influenced by him in almost every way, we finally meet in Scottsdale Fashion Center Mall. We walked around the mall and talked about life. It was awkward at first but eased up near the end of the visit. We ate food together, walked around the mall, and browsed through stores. Near the end I also gave him a bracelet that I had made in art class.
  • Learned HTML

    Learned HTML
I learned one of my very first programming languages here: HTML. This was the start of a long period of time where I invested a lot of time into self-studies and learned many different things. HTML also kick started my online developer forum career.
  • Started Dating Joel

    Started Dating Joel
The infamous date that I will never forget. 3.26.12. The day that I began to date my first real boyfriend; while it was online, I learned a lot from my relationship with him. I dated him for almost two years and was the first guy I dated that I ever announced "love" for.
  • Completed MIUI Project

    Completed MIUI Project
This was one of my saddest moments ever in life. Who would have thought it would have been for completing a work project? Early 2013 was the date that I finally wrapped up my work on a public forum project that I took over earlier in 2012. The project, MIUI, was a custom Android ROM that was ported over for the Samsung Galaxy S III (d2vzw) by me and a friend named Bleelas. It was one of the first major developer projects that I had ever done and was one of the first times I ever felt popular.
  • Became a Recognized Contributor on XDA.

Became a Recognized Contributor on XDA.
The day that my developer portfolio finally became large enough for me to attain the title of a "Recognized Contributor" on XDA-Developers. I was extremely happy and began to get a huge sense of pride, maybe even a little arrogance, for my work. From that day on I've always tried to only post useful things on XDA and not ask questions.
  • Won DECA Career Development Conference (State)

Won DECA Career Development Conference (State)
My business proposal paper won the ENI (Entrepreneurship Innovation) event and I snagged the first place title as well as the ability to attend the DECA-Nationals in Georgia. I worked very hard, and for a very long time on my paper, as well as the presentation for it. The trip was also one of my first long field trips that I have had in awhile.
  • Broke up with Joel

    Broke up with Joel
After dating for a year and a half, Joel and I called the quits. It was a mutual agreement and we are still friends---even to this day. This was a very significant event in my life because it was not only my first real break up, but the first break up where I was still able to be friends with the person I dated. I learned a lot from my relationship with him and I have set very high expectations for almost all of my future dates as a result of it
  • First Job!

    First Job!
I got my first job at a little local place called "Dash Grill!" The job was really easy. I was a front-of-house employee and basically only did cashier, food running, and busing. We didn't get very much business though and the store closed after a few months of being open. Nonetheless, it was a good experience and got me into the work force.
  • Moved home

    Moved home
After being in and out of my parents' house for about two years, I've finally moved back in (hopefully) permantely. This is the first time I've been back home and able to function properly. My parents adopted one of my sister's kids due to drug abuse so I've had to deal with a lot and wasn't able to focus very well at home before so I moved out. Now that I'm back in I hope I can stay engaged in school, work, and life for another year so then I can hopefully move out.
