     Battle of Tippecanoe Creek
    In this event Indiana's territorial governor William Harrison was the leader of the U.S. This defeat convinced the Indians in the Northwest Territory that they needed British support to prevent American settlers from fushing them further out of their lands. Also on June 18, 1812, the president signed a declaration of war against Britain. This event was important because the safty of the white settlements in the Indiana Territory became marked as improved.
  • U.S. military crossed into Canada 1

    On declared war against Great Britain, and extension Canada, in their disre to own the land. They thought they could capture and clain the British territory of Canada pretty easily and they began attacking thr counrty. This event was important because they were trying to take Canada but failed to do so. Also the Americans lost 1,200 of their men, who were either injured or killed and the troops that were still alive on the hill were taken prisoners.

    What happened was that the American troops had captured and burned the city of York, which was the capital of Upper Canada, and by May 27th they had moved onto Fort George and easily captured it. British troops fought back, but they were outnumbered, and they were forced to retreat to the city of Hamilton. This event was important because they found shelter. Also they found ways to attack the rest of the Canada. Even though it was eventually reclaimed by the British.
  • Napoleon's defeat in Europe, allowing the British to commit more troops to the war in the U.S.

    What happened was that Great Britain was locked in a long and bitter conflict with France. In an attempt to cut off supplies from reaching the enemy. Both sides attempted to block the United States from trading with the other. It was important because the United States, had negligible involvement from other participants of the broader Napoleonic War. Notably, a series of British raids, later called the Burning of Washington, and would result in the burning buildings.
  • US Naval Commander Oliver Hazard Perry captured a British fleet on Lake Erie.

    In this event USS Lawrence spotted six British ships gliding across Lake Erie’s horizon. As soon as the ship’s captain, Master Commandant Oliver Hazard Perry, heard the sailor’s cry and he ordered his crew to raise the anchor from the harbor of Put-in-Bay, Ohio, and fight the enemy flotilla. This event was important because it was remembered for what happened in the moments immediately after the guns fell silent as Perry tore the back of an old envelope, braced it against his hat and scrawled h
  • U.S. military crossed into Canada 3

    In this event during the night by the Americans and the British, Canadian militia and the First Nations fighters fought. The British troops held their ground on the top of the high ridge that overlooked Lundy’s’ Lane and were able to fire on the Americans that kept on going with little resistance. This event was important because the Americans won the war and won the land.
    Also the natural border between the two countries, who were now at peace with one another.

    British attack Washington D.C. and burn the Capitol and White House. The majority of the people that lived there fled to another city. This event was important because the British destroyed the White House. When the president came back they remodeled it and held a feast for the army.

    In the summer of 1814, the British naval fleet and had many army troops and Royal Marines and then set sail to attack the United States. The British then sailed up the River in a naval and on land.They set up their base on Baltimore, and the British army and marines who came to the shore east of this major American seaport near Sparrows Point. This event was important because without these victories the British give up their territorial demands at the talks.

    What happened was that unaware that peace had been concluded, British forces mounted a major attack on New Orleans, only to meet with defeat at the hands of future U.S. president Andrew Jackson’s army. News of the battle boosted sagging U.S. morale and left Americans with the taste of victory, despite the fact that the country had achieved none of its pre-war objectives.
