Kri's Life

  • My Birth (Personal)

This is when I entered the world. Without me being here I would not be able to have done or acheived the things that proceed this date. That is why I find it this date pretty important.
  • My Parents Get Divorced (Personal)

My parents sat my brother and I down and told us that tehy were getting a divorce. This is an important time because it affected where I ended up going to high school, and other life decisions.
  • Mom Gets Remarried (Personal)

My mom got remarried, and when she did, I gained two stepbrothers. Shortly after that in March 2006 my dad got remarried. When he got remarried, I gained two stepsisters and one stepbrother. (I added my dad getting married in this time so that I would not have to take up two bubbles on the timeline). This changed my family dynamic and even some of my relationships.
  • Entering High School (Personal)

I ended up going to a high school that I never thought I would be going to due to my parents getting dirvorced, getting remarried, and moving into a different home. I did not know a signle person that attended that school. It was such an intimidating time, and often cried myself to sleep.
  • Nanny Life (Professional)

This was the year that I got a nanny job that I would have even to this day. I was a nanny for two different families, for a total of of five children. During this time I had to help the kids with their summer work and read with them. This helped me see that I enjoy being with kids and helping them in an educational way.
  • Working at Wyld Life (Professional)

I applied to work at a YoungLife camp, which deals with high school students. I did not get into a YL camp, but I did get into a Wyld Life camp, and at first that I was very upset. However, I still went for the entire summer. That was the first year that I ever entertained the idea of teaching middle school. It was a great experience and pushed me outside of my comfort zone.
  • Ziggy Passes Away (Personal)

This was one of the hardest things that I have ever been through. He was more than just my grandfather, but he was more like a father to me.
  • College Acceptance (Professional)

This was the day that I got word that I had been accepted to Carson-Newman. I was super excited! This is when it hit me that I realliy had to pick a major and think of what I may want to do with my life.
  • High School Graduation (Professional)

This is when I said goodbye high school, hello college! This was a big deal because my education in high school set me up for my education in college.
  • Declared Major (Professional)

This was the day that I declared a major in education! After a lot of thinking, I finally knew that this was the major for me. This was huge because I would finally be in education classes and learn about how to be an effective teacher.
