  • Tradegy/Hardship

During the summer of 2011, I felt like I had the worst summer ever. On June 26, 2011, my grandmother died in a car accident early that morning. When I first heard the news, I felt like I was all alone with nobody around. It connects to Oedipus because when Jocasta committed suicide, he felt like it was his fault because of how he was treating everybody.
  • Peer Pressure

My last year of middle school was one of my worst years of my life. In my 8th grade year, students always want me to help them with everything in every class. I had a hard time saying "no" to people because I don't mind helping people, I just don't like it when people want me to do for them. The reason why they wanted my help because the students sometimes want me to do their work for them. Like when the people of Thebes came to Oedipus for help because he saved them the first time.
  • Trying to be someone your not

My friend and I have been joining a crowd since freshman year started. We were hanging with these group of girls, it was fun while it lasted. But until tensions became in between one girl and my friend. Me and her decided to stop hanging with them and we hung out with each other and made some other friends. It connects to Oedipus and Creon because Oedipus thought had he set him up and Oedipus lost his best friend and hated him.
  • Finfing yourself

In my freshman year, since it was high school. I decided to try something different. I decided to join the FCCLA club because I always thought it was gonna be fun. In the club, they do fundraising, candy sells, and go on field trips. It changed me because ever since I joined this club it made me wanna join other clubs and enjoy them. It connects to Oedipus because when Jocasta died, he cut his eyes out and now he finds out that he's not king anymore
  • One of a Kind/Finding Yourself

Since I started my freshman year. I wanted to try something different, like clubs. The very first I ever joined was the FCCLA club. Later that year, I went on a field trip with the club called the Fall Leadership. It changed me because I liked the club although it didn't go very well the first time but I really enjoyed it. It connects to Oedipus because Corinth wanted Oedipus to be king of their country but he was already king of Thebes so he finding his true self.
