    The first prayer book was published in Sonkino, Italy on 1486. This is important because they pray three times a day and they collect the prayers and put them in their book and it shows the order of thir prayers.

    The Jews return to their homelandof Israel. Jews mainly from Russia and Yemen moved back to Palestine.

    In World War I the British defeated the Turks and and took over Israel. Israel is also known as Palestine. Legue of Nations granted the United kingdom a mandate over Palestine in 1922.

    During World War II about 6 million Jews where killed. Nazi Germany targeted Jew and other groups of people. This event became well known as the holocaust.
  • Israel Declares Independence

    The United States and Russia accepted the declaration, but Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon invaded. They were defeated quickly by Israel's new army.
  • Arab-Israeli War

    With in a couple of hours of Israel declaring their independence the surronding countries invaded Israel. The armies of Iraq,Egypt, Syria, and Lebabon attacked them. This later became known as the Arab-Israeli War.
  • 6 Day War

    The was was against Syria, Jordan, and Egypt. Isreal thought that the three of them were going to join together and have a massive attack.
  • Yom Kippur War

    Syria and Egypt launched an attack on Israel on Yon Kippur, the holieest day of the year. Israel counter attacked and captured back the Golan Heights. They ceased fire on October 25, 1973.
  • Hebrew becomes the official language

    Hebrew bacame the official language of Israel in 1982. Hebrew was the official language of Israel in biblical times, but the language slowly died off. It came back in the 1900's. Arabic and Hebrew are the official languages of Israel.
  • Israel's worst sand storm in history

    Shouldn't be outside for long perods of time because of the bad health conditiions from the sand storm. They have had to close airports because they weren't able to see. They have gone through a couple days of storms so far.
