    Birth of Caleb

    I am born on this day. Which is pretty cool. My dad almost missed my birth since he was at a Wendy's. Since then, I've become my parents' favorite child.
  • First Time I Ate An Oreo

    My mother thought that it would be important to photograph me eating my first Oreo. It becomes a family tradition to photograph their children eating their first Oreo.
  • Tirza Ortiz is born

    This is a very important date in my life since all the attention from my parents shifted from me to my little sister. Tirza is both my closest friend as well as the source of my constant headaches and increased population of grey hairs on my head.
  • I Start School

    School is cool. I start Pre-K around this time at St. Raphael's Catholic School. It's a pretty awesome.

    This is my time spent from Kinder to my 8th graduation. This time period serves as the basis of my education as well as introducing me to friends that I've continued to grow with.
  • September 11th, 2001

    The terror attacks on this day open my eyes that terrible things happen in the world.
  • I Find My Mom's Old Records

    I find records by the Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Smiths, The Velvet Underground, David Bowie, Electric Light Orchestra, T-Rex, and Earth, Wind, and Fire. Since this discovery, my taste in music stems from these influences. My older brother also starts calling me "Hipster Doofus."
  • Batman Begins

    Batman Begins comes out and my little mind explodes. I immediately believe it to be the greatest film ever released.
  • The Dark Knight

    My mind is blown again once The Dark Knight is released. My mind reorganizes it's list of greatest films of all time to properly include this film at the top.
  • First Time I See A Tarantino Film

    I sneak into a theater to see "Inglorious Basterds." This is retrospectively when I begin to take interest in Quentin Tarantino's films as well as taking interest in films in general.
  • Eastwood High School

    I attend Eastwood High School for one year.

    Cathedral High School

    I attend Cathedral High School. During this time is where education really starts becoming more difficult. I also decide that I would appreciate becoming an educator as a career.
  • Parent's Divorce

    My parents divorce after 30 years of marriage. This is significant due to the fact that I had to take up more responsibility in helping my mom and sister. I also realize that my mother is a saint and no one on planet Earth is worthy of her.
  • First Concert

    I enjoy listening and experiencing music and up to this point is where I only imagined what attending a concert would be like. A few friends and I see The Black Keys in New Mexico.
  • First Job

    I want more money and I realize that I need a job in order to stop bleeding my parents wallets. I start working at Hot Dog on A Stick.
  • Jason Graduates

    My cousin Jason has been the closest relative to acting like a brother. He graduates from UTEP and ultimately inspires me, his children, and several other relatives to continue their education.

    I begin studying for my degree in education. Hopefully I can make a difference in student's lives and help them take interest in what they learn.

    Forever 21

    This part of my life is significant because this job taught me many lessons in terms of team work, teaching new people how to properly work, and most importantly patience.
  • Austin City Limits

    This is my first out of town concert that I attend. I go with the same friends that I've known since Kinder. The experience of attending this festival left me mind-blown and very dehydrated.
  • Josh Graduates

    My brother graduates from college. This becomes an inspiration to me and my sister to finish our education.
  • San Diego

    I spend a week in San Diego with friends. The week included learning how to navigate through a different city, shopping for groceries, and spending money wisely.
  • 21st Birthday

    This was the day that I turned 21. After this day, my family ceased to see me a kid but as a young adult now. My mom cries and states her excitement to see where I go.
  • Grandma Passes

    My grandmother has always been a strong beacon within our family. She passes on this day. Everyone in the family shows strong support for one another as they deal with their grief.
  • Tirza Goes Off To College

    Tirza spends two years at UTEP but transfers to Austin to continue her education. This is pretty shocking in part that I've never spent so long without my sister. So far it is relaxing and lonely at the same time.
