Hurricane Floyd
My grandmothers house was flooded and she ended up having to move away. My fathers 1970 Boss Mustang FastBack was washed away as well. Our house was flooded and we almost moved because of it. -
Mom and Dad adopt me and my two sisters.
This the day before my sixth birthday, and i am leaving the foster program to be adopted by my foster parents. I was also entering the kindergarten. -

George Bush became the 43 presidant. it was hoped that the man would be nothing like his father. That was a far cry. -
The Twin Towers were knocked down.
I was in the second grade when this happened. i missed my friends birthday party, and had family members fighting to save people that day. i dont know why but on that day, i vowed i would send some cold hard revenge at the enemy, and bagan studying up on the U.S military. ill kill him -
Afghan Taliban Regime Falls
My cousin is shipped to Afghanastan in this year to aid with the Americans attacking the Taliban regime, and he told me that he had helped stop the regime from advancingg further out of their Arab home lands. -
Fish Mutation
Scientist discover that the waters of California were mutating male fish into females. This affected me because my family and I had watched out for the fish we bought. We didnt by any fish that came from or near the coast of California. We were afraid that the fish might infect us because of the chemical. -
5th Grade
When I entered fifth grade, I started to meet new people from other cultures, Italians, Mexicans, etc. I started hanging out with white people a lot, and it was a big thing because my family taught me to be careful of white people because they might try to hurt me. I took a big step in opening up to being non-racist. -
Being pulled out of school
I was attackedd by a few kids in class and after defending myself I was suspeneded for a month. My mom began to homeschool me for that reason, and my dream of being in the military could be better prepared for. -
Nursing Home Visits
I always visited the nursing home until my grandmother died, and I remember on this day I witnessed a man die. I thought about how this was showing me that unexpected and very tragic things will happen and so I would need to be prepared for such things. -
Cousin Comes Home from War
My cousin is a lieutenant in the US Army and had been stationed in Iraq. He came home and told me about the things he saw while he was there and told me that I needed to know what was really going on. He explained to me what the military could help me do, and that helkped me decide on a possible career aa an explosives expert. -
Obama in Office
The man is the first black presidant, and maybe not to me, but to other African Americans, this is a big step, showing that it dosent matter the color of your skin, you can do anything. -
Health Care Reform
On this day the Health Care reform was signed and it affected me in a way that I am supposed to be getting health coverage. I dont get sick often so in a way, I honestly dont feel like it is important to me yet, but in the future when I am more active, it will be very realiable. -
BP Oil Spill
In 2010, an oil rig explodes and sends oil across the Pacific Ocean. This spill affecteed me because gas prices went up, and it was hard enough for my family to make enough money. -
Return to Highschool
After being homeschooled for three years, it was nice coming back to public school and meeting my friends again. I was also givin opportunities that I couldnt get while homeschooled. For one, military recruiters come to the high school and this gave me a chance to find someone who could help me. -
Bin Laden Dead
Bin Laden was killed this day, and it affects me because, now that the Navy and other branches can work on other issues, there are more places for me to be stationed, more chances for me to open new doors. -
New friends in other countries
I met people from other countries, like Anna Pieplek, Dennis Ma, and Mohamed Abdiglel, and it was a good opportunity to learn about other cultures and countries from these three people, and it is going to help me in the future when I visit these countires through the military. -
Ghadaffi Killed
Ghadiffi was assassinated byhis own people. I had a friend stationed outside of Lybia and he was afraid he was going to have to go in and do something. He is a Marine who has seen combat forty some odd times now, and he is scared, he just wants to come home. He was happy, as well as I when the lybian people took action. -
Job at Mia Sorella
I work at a spanish resturant, and I sometimes dont get paid on time. I had to learn that life is going to hard after high school and I'm experiancing a part of the real world. This is helping me understand how some people will take you for granted. -
I signed up for the Navy and entered the SEALs program
My dreams of being a Marine Corp EOD member were dropped when I joined the U.S Navy and decided to pursue a career as a Navy SEAL. It made me happy when I was accepted and told that I would ship to base soon. -
The death of Kim Jong Il
I had a feeling after he died that NorrthKorea might try to take action, however, they did not, and maybe that is just a front. I am affected because I know that if we go to war withthem, me as a Navy SEAL will get shipped into the country, along with Marines and Army Rangers to do special jobs. The last place I want to go is a place thaat can be considered the next Vienam. -
Kony
Kony was exposed by the media on this day, thanks to sites such as youtube and facebook. My counear Africa, was stationed near Africa, and we had a feeling he would be shipped to Africa with the large force of Marines. He did a tour for a month in Uganda, he was working as communications specialists, helping the Marines establish radio ways. -
Kony 2012
Joseph Kony is exposed to the media as a kidnapper and tyrant. U.S soldiers are placed in Rwanda and Uganda to protect civilians, as the search for Kony begins. This affects me because with my career as a Navy SEAL, I was told that my job at times would be to search key areas in Uganda, Rwanda and Suadi Arabia to find him. -
Egyptian Revolution
The people of Egypt did not want to be dictated by Hosni Mubarak any longer, and so a revolution started. The people fought against the governmentlaw enforcers, until Mubarak decided to step down and be put in jail. It affects me because I have a friend who moved away from Egypt to get away from all the fighting. He would be in the Egyptian Army if he was still there.
