The day i was born! Clearly a signifcant day in my life. From the first day i was born my older brother was there protecting me -
9/11 "Terroist"
9/11 is a senstive topic for me. Although it did not affect me directly, and did not affect me at the time, it has in my life time. As a Muslim in the western world i feel like 9/11 has affected all Muslims in North America. It has also changed the views of other American's towards Islam. Negatively and positively. It impacted me emotionally towards my religon and others it is a milestone in my life because it made me love the mulicutralism in Canda and the acceptence of different religons -
Learning How to Swim
Learning how tro swim is a fun part of growing up and is ultimetly a great opportunity that not every child has/ It is a good part pf physical development which can be recreational yet very benefical. Learning to swim was a fun milestone in my life that hopefully i will always remember! -
First Day of Middle School
The first day of middle school was a huge imapct on my life. It was the first day on my own, away from my elementry schopol that i had been at for what seemed like my whole life. It was a time for me to try to be socially accepted,it emotionally changed me. I have regrets and bad, good and scary memories from middle school that ill keep with me for the rest of my life -
The Wrong Crowd
Middle school was not an easy time in my life. Looking back on my preteen years, it seems i tried so hard to be socially accepted. Through this desire i got caught up with the wrong crowd... I did alot of things i regret, but through these experiences and the ups and downs i am the confident person i am today. This was one milestone i am happy i passed. -
Piercing
I got my first piercing in Grade 8, this was a big deal for me. I have my munroe pierced ( upper lip). This wasn't neccesarily a good milestone in my life, but to me it was a maturity landmark. It was a different physical change for me and anything i had ever done before -
visiting my home country - Jordan
visiting my home coutry of Jordan in 2011 i think had a huge impact on me socially and emotionally. It was the first time i went back as an adolesnece. I really got to learn about my culture, religon, extended family. Through that i really think it helped me learn more about who I am. I have a lot of souveniers i brought back, pictures, home decor and more. -
First Job
My first job was a great milestone in my life. Finally i had been given the opportunity to work. Every business wants someone with experiences so it was really hard to find someone to give me an opportunity to gain experiences. Through my firstt job i have had so many opportunities open up because of it. Some noted memories i will take are the skills that i learned that i will take with me through the rest of my work life -
Drivers License
Getting my driver's license was a huge thing for me. I finally got the freedom to go where i please, when i want to and how i wanted to.
It changed me emotionally because getting a driver's license also ment having to become more responible.
I will always have my TERRIBLE driver's licencse photo to represent this milestone. -
Honour Roll
In Grade 11, i made the Honour Roll list for the first time in my life. I never thought i would be able to achieve it. It has really made me believe in myself as a student that i actually have a potetional to do good in school and do something good in my life. It has really motivated me and pushed me to do better in school It has really socially changed me to better the society around me.

Volunteering with MAC ( Muslim Asociation of Canada)
Volunteering with MAC for the first time was an amazing milestone in my life. I volunteered at the Eid Festival doing the facepainting for children.I felt surronded by people who share the same similar views and beliefs and that's always a nice feeling. I have so many stories i can tell from that day. I will always remember that CTV News Kitchener was covering the day and I was on TV -
Graduation
Graduation will be a huge milestone in my life. To me it will be a huge rite of passage, as it will mark me starting a new life different from the one i've experienced for the last 4 years. It includes cognative, social, emotional and physical changes. Some mementos i will keep are my: srudent card, diploma and many stories. -
College or Universty
Starting college this upcoming september will be a huge impact on my life that im more than ready for. I can't wait to start college and my career, to meet new people and make new memories. It will be the start opf my future with many more phsyical, social and emotional changes! -
Hijab
Recently i have been thinking quite a bit my future and who i want to become. I want to be the best Muslim i can be, and with time i would like to put on the Hijab ( scarf cover). It means alot to me and would be a HUGE milestone in my life, but its something that i want to do when the time is right. It would be a great physical and social change, but i believe it is for the better. -
Career
I cannot wait to start my career and future. I want to get into Public Relations and hopefully one day own my own PR Firm. Acheiving this milestoe would mean alot to me, who knows what the future holds, but being a working women with my own career means alot to me. -
Marriage & Children
I've always wondered when or who i would get married and have children with. This is a signifcant moment in anyones life with many changes.
Socially: Completly changing how you interact with your family, children, friends and your main companin becomes your main source of socail interaction
Emotional: There will always be emotional up and downs through any realtionship, working out things with your parents, and the emotional connection you with your children and partner
Physical: Preganancy
