tennis court oath
The estates General had locked out the 3rd estate from their meeting. The 3rd estate met in a nearby tennis court and swore an oath to not leave until a new constitution was made. All but one person had signed the oath. They began to call themselves the National Assembly. -
storming of bastille
People broke in to the prison for weapons and to free the “prisoners”. The people attacked the guards and hung their heads on swords. -
Declairation of rights of a man
These rights were passed by the National Assemble. This gave the people more rights while ignoring the king. -
March to Versailles
French market women were angry about the price of bread skyrocketing up. They gathered into a mob and marched to Versailles attacking the palace. The women demanded to the kind and his family to move to Paris, so they did. -
louis's trial
King Louis’s was charged with over 30 charges. He was looked as a traitor by the people because he and his queen had tried to escape France. Louis was put to death because he was declared guilty. The people of France had killed their own king. -

robespierre comes to power
Robespierre became head of committee of safety. He was then elected president of France and the reign of terror begun. -
ropespierre killed
People voted for arrest of Robespierre because they wanted relaxation and he was creating violence. He was executed and the reign of terror died with him. After, the government of France became more moderate.
