I am going to maintain my 4.0 GPA. I will know that I have met the goal at the end of the semester because I will then be able to see my fully final grade. I will reach the goal by studying for every test and monitoring my grades very carefully. If a problem arises with my grades I will talk to my teacher. In order to reach this goal I will have to play less games and study a lot more. The goal is short term because I will be able to see my semester grade at the end of the semester.
