    Martin Luther was born

    Martin Luther was born on November 10th 1483 in Eisleben,Saxony in the Holy Roman Empire.He was baptized as a Catholic the next morning.In his early years,he described his education like hell and purgatory.He was a German professor of theology,a priest and a monk.Martin Luther was one of the most influential figures during the 16th century as he started the Protestant Reformation when he started to reject the teachings and practices of the Late Medieval Catholic Church.

    Martin Luther starts Protesant Reformation

    Martin Luther started the reformation with his 1517 book "The Ninety Five Theses"
    He believed that the Pope had no authority over purgatory and criticized the selling of indulgences.
    He also stated that the Catholic doctrine had no foundation in the Gospel.The Protestant Reformation lasts throughout the 16th century.This was meant to cause people to separate from the Catholic Church and reform to Protestantism.

    Martin Luther died on February 10th 1546 in his hometown of Eisleben.His legacy was remembered as he started the spread of Protestantism all over the world due to him creating the Protestant Reformation.He also is remembered for his style of leadership as he was described as physically imposing.This may have inspired Napoleon's style of leadership as well.

    Napoleon Bonaparte was born on August 15th 1769 in Ajaccio,Corsica,France.He was a French military and political leader during the French revolution.During that time,he led several successful campaigns during the Revolutionary Wars.Also during that time,he was also Emperor of France from 1804 to 1815.

    Napoleon started the Napoleonic Wars from 1803 to 1815.They were a series of battles with the French empire led by Napoleon against all of the other European powers.The battle started out successfully for the French but went completely downhill after the Russian victory over Frances invasion.After this,Napoleon was exiled to Elba.However,Napoleon escaped and returned to power but was defeated at the battle of Waterloo and Napoleon was again exiled,this time to Saint Helena and for good.
  • Napoleon dies at the age of 51

    Napoleon Bonaparte died on May 5th 1821 on Saint Helena.His physician warned London of his deteriorating health due to their harsh treatment.No one has confirmed his cause of death.The two suggestions are stomach cancer or arsenic poisoning.Napoleon has been remembered as one of the most powerful generals to have existed.He is similar to Martin Luther being persuasive to others in order to reach their goals.
